Week 13: #1 The Freedom of Purpose || The 4 Freedoms

Hello again – last week I introduced you to the concept of The Four Entrepreneurial Freedoms. This week I want to share a few questions with you regarding The Freedom of Purpose.

Hopefully these questions will help you articulate your ‘Big Why’. Your ‘Big Why’ may be the reason you became a real estate professional in the first place, or it may be the reason you decide to stay in the business and up your game. For most of us, our purpose is what keeps us motivated.

So, why did you get into this business in the first place?

Is it because you realized one day that you really just wanted to help people make the big moves in their lives? Did you see real estate as an opportunity to make a difference and become a hero to your clients? Did you have a friend or family member in the business that inspired you to make the leap?

Did you choose a real estate career for the money? That is not necessarily a bad thing. In fact, real estate can be very rewarding financially. However, if making money is your only purpose, you may find yourself burning out on the business sooner rather than later.

Maybe your purpose has nothing to do with the real estate business at all. Maybe working in real estate is your path to a bigger future. Maybe real estate is the way you are going to earn the money to fund what you consider to be your real purpose.

Maybe your purpose is supporting your church or your community. Maybe real estate is there to fund your passion for travel or a hobby. Maybe your purpose right now is funding your child’s college education.

The most successful people in this business have a purpose that is greater than themselves. When times get tough being clear on their purpose helps them persevere.

Only you can identify your purpose. You are free to choose it and make it what you will. Nobody else gets to decide your purpose for you. You own it.

At ROOST Real Estate Co. our purpose is to help people live the way they want to live today. It is as simple as that.

Stay tuned next week for Chris’s thoughts on The Freedom of Relationship.
